Before anything else, let’s clarify first the definition of these two. Basically manga is the term used to refer comics and print cartoons that are published in Japan. On the other hand, anime usually refers to animation in general that originates from Japan as well. Most stories are heavily influenced or rather based on manga. At this point, anime exists either hand-drawn or computer-generated, or both. Afterward they are distributed to different media forms like television series, films, video, video games, commercials and even internet. Both manga and anime actually have the same drawing styles that feature characters with large eyes, fashionable hairstyles, elongated limbs and exaggerated facial expressions.
At some point, both manga and anime are pretty much the same but sometimes they also have their own distinct features. I actually enjoy both forms, whether to watch anime or read manga. But of course, I prefer just watching the anime aside from being too lazy to read. I get to see better visual representation out of anime, since it is also supported with computer-generated effects.
However, what I hate about anime is its tendency to finish the series without resolving all the conflicts of the story. I’m telling you the whole series is a cliffhanger, not just one episode! Hence, I sometimes end up reading the manga as well to get the real ending of the story. When that happens, it’s really quite annoying to my part because I end up giving too much time on just one series. To think, at time I had to read the manga from the top because I might not be able to understand the flow of story given that there are some scenes in manga that were not shown in the anime version –and same goes to the other actually.
Really now, in the end I still can’t figure out which one is better. Since some stories are better off with manga and vice versa!
